Jolly Fox 2022: Greenwood & Perry Outfox the Competition
Niseko “mouse” George Perry has taken out the coveted Jolly Fox Invitational for the second time in the tourney’s three-year history.
However, the winning shot came via the putter of fox-partner Trevor Greenwood – the competition remained undecided until the final hole when Greenwood sank a high-pressure, 30-foot putt to secure the trophy.
The putt propelled Perry and Greenwood onto the Jolly Fox Invitational podium for the second time each – Perry and partner Martin Silitonga won the inaugural tournament in 2020, and Greenwood and partner Ed Downer earned a third-place finish in 2021.
”On the last day there were 5-7 teams in the running which was exciting – I honestly tried to not look at the score board and just concentrate on the next shot.”

“We just wanted to be in with a chance on the last day.”
Going into the final round the duo found themselves in the mix with seven other teams, each in contention for the win.
“We were not afraid to take some risks,” continued Perry. “We started to pull some great holes together and I knew we would be close coming into the final stages.”
By the 16th hole of round three, mere strokes separated Greenwood and Perry from victory.
By the 18th hole, Greenwood found himself on the green with the fate of the duo resting on one final putt and one final chance to secure victory. Greenwood delivered.
“Very satisfied with being a 2-time winner. Each time it was managed with a game winning putt on the 18th green.”

The Jolly Fox events have cemented their position as highlights on the Niseko golfer’s event calendar.
“Michael (Chen) and the H2 Life team put on such a great event. I honestly feel like a pro golfer for two days,” said Perry.
With the 2022 Jolly Fox Invitational now wrapped up the duo’s focus, and that of Niseko’s golf enthusiasts, now turns to the Jolly Fox Masters Tournament.
Jolly Fox Masters
The Jolly Fox Masters, now in its second year, is unforgiving. Its single elimination format has already dashed the hopes of 10 could-be-winners including the upset win of Michael Chen (ranked 19th) over Chris Pickering (ranked 5th).
August promises to bring more action – the Masters Tournament will advance into the sweet 16 and the Jolly Fox International tees off.
